Mighty May

I tell people all the time about the importance of blogging, and don’t do it myself… MUST. TRY. HARDER! haha.

Last month (April) was a great month for Court & Spark as it started to gain momentum and we’ve had such a great response from people who have come to watch us. Here are some of the amazing reviews we’ve had on Facebook:

“What an amazing show… I am a huge Joni fan, and was really impressed. I was blown away with the vocals from Jade.. she absoloutely nailed everything! “Blue” was something else! All the musicians are super talented, and the vibe was amazing. The whole show was a feast for the ears and eyes… loved the visuals too. Epic performances! Well done guys, look forward to seeing you again x”

“I have been a fan of Joni since the 70’s, but I never did get to see her play live. With the superb musicianship of the band, and the pure and true vocals of Jade Thunder, I was transported back to those days of listening intently to For The Roses, Hejira etc on vinyl.Yet again, I was reduced to tears at hearing the words of Little Green. What a wonderful musical journey we had last night at the Floral Pavilion. The visuals were a great addition to the show, and the snippets of insight into Joni’s life provided by Jade had me tittering, saying to myself ‘ Well, I certainly never knew THAT!'”

“What an incredible experience, and what a talent!!! I couldn’t stop the tears all the way through. Loved the little bits of info too, fascinating. I will be firmly in place in the audience at the next gig!!! πŸ’–πŸ’•πŸ’œ”

“An excellent show at the Capstone Theatre in Liverpool. Loved it all, especially the ‘Hejira’ and ‘Court and Spark’ material. Jade’s vocals are astonishing. She doesn’t try to β€˜be’ Joni, but she inhabits the songs in her own way, so you hear them anew and all those gorgeous, vivid lyrics so clearly. Great work, all of you!”

May is a really good month for everything. I have a lot going on which you can see on the Gigs and Shows pages.
There are a few more Court & Spark gigs, Eclipse and The Gary Murphy Band gigs too, not-forgetting the duos that are in full swing now.

Joyride is developing nicely – we are continually bringing out new songs and experimenting with what works and what doesn’t.

Crazy Diamonds is forever a delight. Working with Carl on anything is a blessing. I spend most of the gig in awe of him ha!

Glade is the longest running duo at 6 years – we’ve not killed each other yet and we’ve really found our groove.

So, keep a look out for the latest gig updates here

And thank you for all your support πŸ™‚
